July 10th, 2019

The Tuparro River camp is located on the upper reaches of the Tuparro river and is only erected for a limited period of time. This area is rated as having one of the most beautiful rivers in all of Colombia, boasting pristine clear water flanked by endless structure and countless lagoons.

What makes this camp very unique is that the fishable section runs adjacent and into a National park called Parque Natural Nacional El Tuparro which allows no fishing at all. This creates a rich biodiverse area which is very seldom fished and in fact, is only fished by our camp clients.

Tuparro has proven time and time again that it’s one of the finest areas for large numbers of Peacocks ranging from 13lbs to 18lbs, boasting really high averages in the Peacock world. Customers will often have many shots at peacocks in the 15lbs range during an outing, landing them is however a story unto its own!

These pristine waters boast an incredible amount of species over and above the Peacock family such as Blue Ariana ,Pacu ,Bicuda ,Mataguaros and Piranha. Predatory catfish, including the likes of Redtail,Piraiba,Flat Whisker and stunning Shovel-nose also play host in these waters and are more than willing to eat a well-presented fly or lure!

Getting there – Presently anglers fly from Medellin, however in the future there maybe an additional option to fly from Bogota to Villavicencio then on to a town called Primavera.
From there, anglers will take a 2-3 hour road journey to the boat collection point. Once on the boat anglers have a 30 min journey to reach their designated camp, let the fishing commence!
