Estancia Despedida sits on the Argentine side of Tierra del Fuego. It is roughly 45 minutes from Ciudad de Rio Grande. Large sheep-farming estancias share this land with wild, llama-like guanacos, red foxes, and condors. The most distant pools on the ranch are only minutes from the lodge. As a result, you spend less time driving and more time on the water.

A Cinderella Story

The Rio Grande sea trout fishery is a modern fly fisherman’s Cinderella story. In just a decade, careful access control and catch-and-release promotion transformed it. Consequently, both catch rates and average size have risen noticeably.
