Residing in Seattle, WA, Barrett’s fly fishing travels have taken him from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, and many places in between. He spent several seasons in Argentina – as both a trout bum and fishing guide – resulting in the book, “Fly Fishing in Patagonia: A Trout Bum’s Guide to Argentina.”
Born and raised in Bariloche Patagonia, Alex has been fly fishing since child. He’s always dreamt about being a guide and making his passion for this beautiful sport also his occupation. He currently co-manages Austral Kings with his brother Nico, and has guided extensively all over Argentina and Bolivia.
Also born and raised in Bariloche in Patagonia, Nico has been fly fishing the waters of Argentina since the tender age of 8. Considered an expert on sea trout in Argentina, Nico splits his time between guiding on the Rio Grande and operating Kooi Noom and Austral Kings lodges.
John has experience fly fishing from the Caribbean to the Rocky Mountains, the Pacific Northwest and throughout central and South America. John hung up his corporate sweatsuit to pursue his passion and contribute expertise in sales, marketing and business development at Faraway. Shoot him an Email and he’ll help you plan your trip to South America!
Mariano is a seasoned expert on many destinations throughout South America, having guided for Dorado in both Argentina and Bolivia, sea trout in Tierra del Fuego, and trout in Patagonia. He’s currently the Manager at Tsimane Lodge and shares managerial duties with Nico and Alex at Kooi Noom.
Travel and fly fishing have always been complementary passions for Ken. From the Catskills, to wilds of Montana, Alaska, and British Columbia, he has always sought out the best most remote destinations. His lifetime of travel experience has proved invaluable in helping Faraway Fly Fishing clients get to the remote corners of Argentina and Chile.
With a lifetime of experience under his belt pursing the best fly fishing on the planet, Richard is a leading expert on Argentina, Alaska and Christmas Island, to name but a few. Many of our clients prefer to call Richard by his apt nickname, the “Dry Fly Jedi”
Dan pursues wild steelhead on the fly and giant rainbow trout in bear country. Serving as our Alaska/ PNW trip consultant, he can help get your boots wet in the rivers of Puget Sound, the Washington Coast, and Alaska.
Our resident photographer and UK agent, Ben’s unique style of photography and high energy attitude keep everyone motivated, even when the fishing is slow.
What began as a healthy hobby quickly devolved into a full-blown obsession with fly fishing that has dragged Evan all over the American West and to parts of Central and South America. Along the way, he co-authored the book, “Fly Fishing in Patagonia: A Trout Bum’s Guide to Argentina.”
Brendan grew up fishing in British Columbia, and has since fished around the world. He is a self-described flats and bluewater junkie with well over 100 different species caught on fly. His photos and writing have appeared in publications including The Drake and Fish & Fly and he once made a television appearance on the National Geographic Channel for his catch of an estimated 600 pound mako shark on fly.
