Argentina has been shut down for almost 20 months as of today. The whole tourism industry has been asking the government to be able to work this upcoming spring-summer season with foreign visitors. In response to our and other Tourism sector request, the Government has shown some empathy and announced some new measures for the upcoming months.
More Details
The Argentine government announced an easing of the restrictions it had imposed due to the decrease in coronavirus cases and released an estimated schedule of dates for this stage. Among these changes, we can remark the gradual opening of the borders to allow the entry of all foreigners from next November, which will be coordinated with Migrations, the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC), and other authorities involved in the process.
Requirements for non-bordering countries foreigners :
-In this sense, to enter the country they will be asked to have a complete vaccination schedule, with the last application date at least 14 days prior to arrival in the country.
-They must also present a negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to shipment, or antigen at the point of entry until defined by the health authority.
-Those who enter must also perform a PCR test between the fifth and seventh day from the arrival date until defined by the health authority.
-Those people who do not present a complete vaccination scheme, including minors, must perform quarantine, antigen test upon admission, and PCR test on day 7.
-Upon reaching 50% of the fully vaccinated population (currently that figure is around 45%), the antigen test will no longer be performed upon admission (except for those not vaccinated) and PCR on days 5-7, and it will be possible to raise the quota.
-Argentines, residents, and foreigners who enter the country for work and will be authorized by the immigration authority.
Given all this previous information we are still waiting for the official decree of necessity and urgency to make sure this is coming into force on the given dates.
