Our new program will change the way you see trout fishing in Patagonia, even if you thought you already knew about all the best places to go…
We have a program that will change the way of seeing trout fishing in Bariloche area.

The new Faraway Fly Fishing program includes three days of fly fishing on our favorite brown trout spring creek in Patagonia combined with an additional three days of fly fishing on the mighty Limay River. Depending on the season, it could also include time fishing on the Manso River, a beautiful piece of water immersed in the Andes forest.

Patagonian Spring Creek fishing

Fishing

Faraway Fly Fishing has formed an exclusive partnership with a Patagonian ranch to gain private access to 10 km of a pristine spring creek flowing their property. It is likely an angler wouldn’t see another fisherman during their time on this large piece of land.

This spring creek is a forgotten gem in Patagonia. Running along huge cliffs, the creek flows between riffles and large pools where big rainbow and brown trout prowl.

One of our favorite things is to discover and explore new, remote waters like this spring creek. Very few anglers have ever even seen this water. The trout have experienced almost no pressure at all.

These trips will be based on walking and wading, as this is the best way to approach and fish the intimate structure of this perfect spring creek.

Accommodation for the Private Spring Creek

After a day of trout fishing, visiting anglers will retire to a three-bedroom guesthouse located near the private spring creek. It is a comfortable home and everything will be included during your stay.

Fishing on the Limay and Manso Rivers

The Limay River is one of the most dynamic and challenging rivers to fish in all of Patagonia. The reward is trout that can grow really big. Browns can be over six pounds and get as large as eighteen pounds in some cases. This is the reason anglers return to the Limay River year after year.

The Limay River has decent populations of resident rainbow and brown trout, but it is the large migratory brown trout swimming up from the Lago Nahuel Huapi and the reservoirs below that are the main attraction. Every year the Limay surrenders more than its fair share of behemoths, staking a claim as one of the most productive fisheries for trophy brown in the world.

The Rio Manso area offers an angler an opportunity to fish a variety of methods, from big dry flies and weighted streamers to tiny emergers, nymphs and spinners. Anglers can cast from boats floating in the lakes region and wade the channels that empty from the stillwaters. Either way, it is the combination of majestic views, big trout and technical fly fishing that has made the region famous.

Accommodation for the Limay River and Manso River

Anglers will be staying in an exclusive, all-inclusive three-bedroom Chalet, strategically located to be as close as possible to both rivers. Meals of local cuisine such as asado and empanadas will be prepared by our incredible private chef. Beer and regional wines will accompany these delightful meals.
