Within 24hrs of landing in Argentina I had already had my first fish to hand, and I hadn’t even left the city limits yet. Having a population of around 13 million in the greater metropolitan area (17th largest in the world), one wouldn’t expect to find quality fishing in the heart of the capital. While anything but a pristine setting, it’s a very interesting juxtaposition to be catching wild dorado on the fly with skyscrapers in the background, trash heaps on the bank, and hoards of sunbathers splashing around. Not exactly why fishermen comes to Argentina, but in lieu of more wild fishing farther afield, it’s more than sufficient to tide me over for the time being. And the weather is certainly a welcome change from the dreary NW. Gracias Mariano!
