Hi all, we are back at home, resting after a long season in Patagonia. We started with our brand new operation Kooi Noom Lodge followed by two great months at Rio Grande, experiencing another season full of surprises.
Fishing in the Rio Grande is difficult to beat in terms of Sea trout numbers and size, no matter what happens every season, the fish always arrives. The overall weather conditions were good, not much wind during the season at least in January and February, with a little pick up in March. Temperatures started to drop quick in the beginning of march, haven´t felt such cold weather since we started guiding in this river ten years ago. Runs were consistant trought out the season, the average catch was 4 good fish (10 pounds), per rod per week. I´ve never said it was easy, we had to look into many different techniques, a couple of them worked really well and were developed by us, playing with the lines, depths, size of flies and drifts.
Fernando Beltran our working partner took some really nice photos of the season down there, beautiful landscapes, big skies, wild life and big Sea Trout.
Hope you like the gallery,
Cheers!
