We have just received another great fishing report from the one and only Tsimane lodges operation which encompasses Pluma Lodge, Agua Negra Lodge, and further upstream Secure Lodge. These three Lodges fish in different areas of the Secure River system. Each of them has smaller tributaries where you can find the Dorados, Pacus, and Yatoranas in high concentrations while walking and wading in search of them. It is difficult to get better than that!!
Tsimane 2021 Fishing Report
Secure Lodge
Last week Sécure Lodge received six American guests; two repeat guests and four for whom this was their first contact with the jungle and this particular kind of fly fishing and species here.
Our six guests were treated with a week of great weather, with clear and warm days, very comfortable temperatures, and a good water level. Each angler brought different casting levels and fishing techniques, and even without experience in some very important points such as the strip set for the golden dorado, everybody had a good number of opportunities. We got into big dorado in both feeding frenzy situations and sight casting spots and caught dorado every day on all the beats.
The biggest fish of the week was a solid 18-lb. fish caught by Haakon Magnussen.

Pluma Lodge
This week we received three anglers: Craig from the U.S., and Esteban with his son Adrian from Bolivia. The three were treated to beautiful weather — warm and sunny all week.
Craig brought a very laidback attitude towards fishing and despite only fishing half days, he caught two fish over 20-lb. He hooked another one that broke him off after some minutes of fight.
Both Esteban and Adrian were new to fly fishing and caught their first couple dorado ever, they were able to spend some time contemplating the scenery and wildlife.
AGUA NEGRA Lodge
Week number seven was as good as the one before! We welcomed really nice weather the entire week, with no rain and clear water in every stream. Fishing was quite good in the Agua Negra and the Chimoro, where we hiked and spent one night in our upper camp, where we caught some really nice dorado.
By the end of the week, we landed more than 50 GD’s, one pacú, and some very nice Yatoranas on dry flies. The biggest fish of the week was a 24 pounds Golden Dorado in the lower Agua Negra.
