Rio Grande 2021 season
We know that 2021 hasn’t been the best year to fulfill your Fly fishing dreams due to the travel restriction all over the world. Argentina, in particular, had foreign traveler’s entry restrictions, this led the fishing operations to work with local anglers or just not open since most of the Fly Fishing Industry in Argentina is supported by US and European anglers. Along the Rio Grande, just two of the main operations opened up and just for Argentine Anglers. La Villa de Maria Behety and Kau Tapen Lodge.
Rio Grande conditions along the season.
Besides being a record snowfall winter, the heat of the spring /summer came very quick melting the snowpack before it was thought, ending up in low water conditions throughout the entire season. This didn’t affect the Sea-Trout fishing that was exceptionally good as usual. The river was small but the deeper pools were packed with fish. Maybe not the most fun conditions since we cannot fish runs or mid-high water spots but in terms of catch stats could not be better.
Will the borders be open next season?
With the current rate of vaccinations, we think there is a high chance that the borders with open up. We still don’t know it but we’ll keep you updated about it!!.
