A rare opportunity to take advantage of remote Steelhead Fly Fishing in northern British Columbia from October 28 – November 5, 2017, for one angler. This is the Skeena River Lodge’s remote Steelhead camp.
Fishing Program
At Nass Base Camp anglers will fish both the Bell Irivng and the Meziadin rivers, typically alternating between the two. Both systems will be accessed by jet boat and all fishing will be done while wading. All fishing will be with single barbless hooks and all fish will be released unharmed. Anglers may also have the chance to raft a remote tributary of the Nass. This systems takes a long time to reach but is often well worth the effort. Anglers might also hike down to the confluence of the Nass and the Meziadin. This takes about 25 minutes and entails fairly challenging terrain. While the wading in the region tends to be easy climbing in and out of the jet boats (especially the Outlaw jet boat) can be challenging.
Nass Base Camp is located on the banks of the Beautiful Meziaden lake close to the Alaskan border. This base camp use to be a tent camp, but now we own a very nice 1700 sqf Log home with a guide cabin on the side. They run the camp only in September and October. This Lodge is a no nonsense steelhead programm. They fish the Bell Irving river and other secret rivers what will guarantee you a real Northern BC steelhead adventure!
Because a quality angling experience is a top priority, only four anglers per week are allowed in our camp. This two angler per guide ratio guarantees you top notch service.
The Skeena River Lodge experience not only offers an unequalled fly fishing adventure in a breathtaking environment. They also provide the angler with priceless knowledge about the fishery in BC. Our guides can offer you detailed Spey/ single handed casting instruction as well as sharing their knowledge about specific fishing situations such as fly selection, sink tip usage, line control and presentation methods. Guides will provide you with all the ingredients needed to land that trophy fish of a lifetime.
Accommodations and Meals
The Nass Base Camp is a simple, no frills semi-funky 1700 square foot cabin near the shore of Meziadin Lake. It has four single occupancy bedrooms as well as a loft in the event there is a snorer. Guests share one bathroom. The lodge has full time cook and hearty meals will be served in the main dining room. While simple, and unpolished, this is a great little camp with super staff that serious anglers greatly enjoy.
